Equality and skills: Sinelec joins the debate on leadership in STEM contexts
18 March 2026Building leadership based on value, responsibility and inclusion is a central challenge for the evolution of the working world today, particularly for the transformation of the technology sector. So, Sinelec participated in the “Leadership tips for women in technical roles” meeting, an initiative dedicated to future women professionals in STEM.
The event took place as part of the Politecnico di Milano’s Investor Program, a platform created by the University to strengthen the bond between the academic world and industry. The program aims to build a direct bridge between companies and new generations, fostering the exchange of innovation and offering students a concrete vision of the professional opportunities available upon completion of their university studies.
Cecilia Pecoraro, Tender Office Manager at Sinelec and herself an alumna of the Politecnico di Milano, shared her academic and professional journey with students of Engineering, Design and Architecture. She highlighted how the development of skills and the sector itself can overcome gender bias through continuous training and a culture of merit.
This meeting is not an isolated initiative but part of a structured commitment by the company and the entire ASTM Group to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I). This commitment is further confirmed by the achievement of key organizational milestones: the SA 8000 certification for the protection of labor rights and conditions and the UNI PdR 125:2022 for gender equality. The latter, in particular, defines clear requirements to ensure equity and inclusion at every stage of corporate life, from recruitment to professional growth.
