Sinelec at Intertraffic: Digitalization as a Strategic Lever for Infrastructure Resilience
13 March 2026The 2026 edition of Intertraffic Amsterdam, the leading international event for mobility professionals and stakeholders, has concluded, confirming the sector’s transition toward an increasingly data-driven paradigm. Sinelec took part in the event, highlighting the importance of integrating predictive maintenance, C-ITS connectivity and artificial intelligence, synergistic elements that ensure the resilience and efficiency of motorway networks.
In a scenario characterized by assets under constant stress, Sinelec’s approach is shifting from traditional scheduled maintenance to predictive one. During the technical session, Michael Bjorn Miletto, Safety Product Manager, illustrated the potential of a data-driven approach powered by artificial intelligence algorithms through the integration of information into digital models. The strategic element lies in the ability to synthesize heterogeneous data—structural, environmental and operational—to create a dynamic information ecosystem. This model enables operators to move beyond a reactive approach, transforming data into a decision-support tool capable of anticipating critical issues, optimizing the lifecycle of infrastructure assets and ensuring service continuity while reducing the economic impact of maintenance interventions.
Simone Conso, Connected Mobility Product Manager, and Massimiliano Serra, Traffic Product Manager, presented the evolution of the SINCRO platform, Sinelec’s ATMS (Advanced Traffic Management System) offering. The value of SINCRO lies in its convergence architecture: the platform enables motorway section monitoring, information management and coordination of infrastructure intervention and maintenance activities by centralizing data from IoT sensors, video analytics systems and connected vehicle data streams, transforming them into a unified operational view.
Native integration with EMERAS — Sinelec’s C-ITS solution for vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communications—extends SINCRO’s capabilities beyond the infrastructure perimeter. EMERAS enables bidirectional communication between the road and the user, turning the roadway into an intelligent environment capable of managing real-time alerts and notifications. This synergy not only raises safety standards but also enables network fluidity that directly supports the efficiency and sustainability objectives set by modern European directives on connected mobility.
