09 Dec 2020 Sinelec to provide ITS systems for Mina Zayed tunnel in Abu Dhabi
SINELEC S.p.A., in consortium with Tamas Project LLC and Durr Traffic Systems FZ LLC has been awarded the tender issued by Itinera S.p.A. – Abu Dhabi and Agility Engineering and Contracting Company LLC Joint Venture related to ITS systems for the Mina Zayed Tunnel, in Abu Dhabi.
This contract is part of the broader construction project of a new road network in the port area of Mina Zayed, bound to become a major commercial hub, connected to the main arteries of the city.
Specifically, Sinelec will be responsible for the design, supply and implementation of video surveillance and smart camera systems for traffic control and risk prevention.
The integration of these ITS devices in the tunnel’s Operation Center through a Video Management System platform will allow the real-time and effective monitoring of conditions and vehicle flow inside the tunnel itself, guaranteeing high safety standards.
