SINELEC with V2X at final conference of POLIMI’s “Connected Car & Mobility” observatory

SINELEC participated as a partner in the closing conference of the Connected Car & Mobility 2023 Observatory held on May 26 at the Bovisa campus. The event was the opportunity to present the concluding data of the 2022-2023 research conducted by that University.

Simone Conso, Sinelec’s Head of Connected Mobility, was among the speakers in the conference’s panel discussion dedicated to analyzing the evolution of V2X technologies and related market perspectives. During his speech, Conso described the main infrastructure digitization projects carried out by Sinelec on the national territory, among which stand out the initiative for the modernization, technological innovation and ecological transition of the A4 Turin-Milan, the implementation of Smart Road systems on the A2 Salerno -Reggio Calabria, the various interventions completed along the sections of the A90, the Grande Raccordo Anulare, and the A91 Rome-Fiumicino.

2022 was such an important year for the development of the Connected Car & Mobility market, which, in Italy, continued its steady run, growing by as much as 350 million euros and thus reaching 2.5 billion euros (+16%), including the value of the connected car segment, which is 1.4 billion euros, and thus registers a growth, year-on-year, of +10%[1] .

Conso then commented on these results, “The growth of the connected car market is steady and encouraging, but we need and want to do more. The advantaged that V2X technology can bring to users’ daily lives are many, especially in terms of immediate benefits on road safety. We need to make an extra effort so that the new solutions, which are already available, are truly accessible to everyone.
